The parish church of Salzburg-Aigen is on Graf-Revertera-Allee next to Aigen Castle in the Aigen district of the municipality of Salzburg . history

A church was documented in 1411. Curate since 1699 , the church was elevated to a parish church in 1852.

In 1689 the church was rebuilt or rebuilt. In 1909/1911 the church was expanded according to the plans of the architect and builder Franz Wagner. The church was restored in 1969.

architecture

The church is surrounded by a low wall of the former cemetery.

The baroque hall building from the late 17th century is cross-shaped with the extension of the same width and height, the transept-like extension has an analogous round apse in the east the size of the old building. The west tower from 1689 was partially drawn into the original facade and is divided into three storeys with coffin cornices and wears an onion helmet, the arched sound windows with beveled walls and banded warp and wedge stones. The tower portal has a volute wedge.

Furnishing

The neo-baroque altars around 1900 were designed by the architect Karl Pirich .

The organ was built by Dreher and Reinisch (1956). In 2003, Gaston Kern installed a new organ with 22 registers based on the example of Johann Andreas Silbermann from the 18th century.
