Schildorn parish church
The parish church Schildorn is in the village Schildorn in the municipality Schildorn in Upper Austria . The Roman Catholic parish church of St. Martin belongs to the deanery of Ried im Innkreis in the diocese of Linz . The church and the cemetery are under monument protection .
history
The church was mentioned in a document in 1075.
architecture
A two-bay choir adjoins the single-nave four-bay nave with a three-eighth end. The nave and choir have a mirror vault under the flat ceilings that were built in 1812. The two-bay south aisle has a ribbed vault. The three-axis west gallery is vaulted with mesh ribs, the ribs were later chipped off. The west tower has an eight-sided bell house and a high onion dome. The south portal is Gothic.
Furnishing
The high altar around 1660 in the manner of Ludwig Vogl shows an altarpiece by Franz Paul Lofferer (1793). The tabernacle with a crucifixion group is in the style of Johann Franz Schwanthaler (around 1720). The Augustine altar in the south aisle is from the 3rd quarter of the 17th century and bears the figure of Sebastian from the end of the 17th century from the circle of Thomas Schwanthaler in the middle. The cross altar bears the figures of the crucified and Mary under the cross from the middle of the 18th century and an angel from the end of the 17th century.
In the choir is a statue of Josef from the 3rd quarter of the 18th century in the manner of Johann Peter Schwanthaler the Elder. The pulpit from 1691 was restored by Franz Schwanthaler in 1754. There is a group of Vespers and Our Lady with Child in the style of Thomas Schwanthaler (around 1680).
