Parish Church Siebenhirten (Municipality of Mistelbach)
The Roman Catholic parish church Siebenhirten is located in the village of Siebenhirten in the municipality of Mistelbach in the Mistelbach district in Lower Austria . It is consecrated to Saint Roch and is located in the dean's office Mistelbach-Pirawarth in the vicariate Unter dem Manhartsberg of the Archdiocese of Vienna . The building is under monument protection ( list entry ).
Location description
The church stands at the southern exit of the village of Siebenhirten.
history
In 1784 a parish in Siebenhirten is mentioned for the first time. According to the portal inscription, the church building was erected in 1868 based on a design by Hieronymus Schaller .
architecture
Church exterior
The house of worship is a neo-Gothic building with a towering facade tower . The southern choir is lower and set opposite the nave. The choir and nave are under saddle roofs . The facade is structured by buttresses and pointed arch windows. The church tower has four floors and is divided by cornices. The sound windows have tracery decorations . Above it is a gable-pointed helmet. The entrance portal is shaped like a shoulder arch and has a tympanum relief with a bust of Jesus under a canopy-like porch. To the east of the tower there is a stair tower, to the west an analogous chapel extension.
Church interior
The nave of the church has four bays and cross barrel vaults . There are pointed arches between the vaults . These rest on pillars and services . The gallery to the north rests on two columns. There is a pointed triumphal arch between the choir and nave . The choir has a single bay and closes at the 3/8 end under a ribbed vault .
Furnishing
The high altar is a neo-Gothic carved altar from the years 1869 and 1870. It was changed in 1952. In the central niche there is a carved figure of Saint Roch, flanked by figures of Saints Sebastian and Charles Borromeo . Saint Rosalia is represented in the essay .
The two neo-Gothic side altars date from 1870. On the left side altar there is a carved figure of the Sorrowful Mary . On the right side altar is a carved figure of St. Florian . All altar statues were created by Johann Preleuthner . The rest of the furnishings come from the construction period, but the furnishings in the Marienkapelle date from 1954 and 1955. The group figure of the Holy Trinity dates from 1728, the figure of St. Peter from the 18th century.
