The parish church of St. Marien is in the village of Oberndorf in the municipality of St. Marien in Upper Austria . The Roman Catholic parish church of Mariä Namen belongs to the dean's office in Kremsmünster in the diocese of Linz . The church and the former cemetery are under monument protection .

history

The church was mentioned in a document in 1318.

architecture

The late Gothic two-aisled two-bay hall church as an almost square one-pillar room dominates the village with a high gable roof. The nave has a richly designed star and ribbed vault. The retracted two-bay, ribbed, vaulted choir has a three-eighths closure. The four-axis west gallery is arched under star ribs. The tower was extended in a late Gothic style with a helmet and a lantern. Baroque porches stand in front of the south and north portal.

Furnishing

The decor is neo-Gothic. The high altar bears a late Gothic Mother of God from the beginning of the 16th century.

The front arch crucifix is ​​from the beginning of the 18th century. The baptismal font is Gothic. In the ossuary chapel next to the south portal there is a crucifixion group from the 2nd quarter of the 17th century.
