The Maria-Namen-Kirche in St. Marien was first mentioned around 1340 ; the time of construction or inauguration is unknown. The late Gothic, two-aisled hall church has been changed several times over the years. When the cemetery was moved away from the church to the outskirts in 1797, a two-story ossuary chapel was built on the vestibule. Bones from the former cemetery are kept in the basement, a crucifixion group from before 1650 is located above. In the high altar from 1871 there is a statue of St. Mary with the child , written at the beginning of the 16th century, included.

Pichlwang 1
location
KG: Pichlwang
There are no documents for the establishment and the history before the 15th century. The church was consecrated in 1444 and a second time in 1500. In contrast to the neighboring churches of Nöstlbach and Kurzenkichen, St. Michael was not abolished under Emperor Josef II , but the parsonage was moved to St. Marien. The high altar and the side altar , which has not changed since then, are from 1720 . The pulpit also dates from this time. In 1950 the neighboring farmers prevented the then dilapidated church from being torn down by participating in the repair costs. In the years 1962, 1983, 1984 individual repairs were carried out. A complete renovation (inside and outside) was carried out between 2005 and 2008 with the participation of the population and financial support from the Federal Monuments Office , the State of Upper Austria , and the Diocese of Linz .
