The Eggendorf parish was founded by Josephine in 1785. The parish church of the Assumption of Mary was only built in 1912, however. The high altar painting "Assumption of Mary" in this church is from Kremser Schmidt . Before 1912 the enlarged castle chapel served as a parish church.

Eggendorf Castle is first mentioned in a document from Kremsmünster Abbey in 1224. Most of the time it was not built until 1580, the castle often changed hands and was rebuilt accordingly. Today, when viewed from the park, Schloss Eggendorf shows a three-story residential wing on the left, and the three-bay castle chapel on the right. The living area and chapel are connected by a side wing with four arbors and ten arches . The castle chapel was Eggendorf's parish church from the time the parish was founded until 1912.

After the parish was founded in 1785, a parsonage was also built. There was also a school for 60-70 children. In 1905 the Eggendorf community built its own school building. The old rectory became dilapidated over time and in 1907 the new rectory was built, which is still standing today.
