The two Steyr masters Sigmund and Stefan built the late Gothic hall church between 1520 and 1526. The building owner was St. Florian Monastery under Provost Peter Maurer. The church has a two-aisled three-bay nave with a ribbed vault . The retracted choir with a 5/8 end has a ribbed vault . In 1607, Provost Vitus Widmann had the tower in the south removed and a mighty west tower built. The tent roof was erected in 1818. There are vestibules with remarkable gates on the north and south sides. Apart from a late Gothic baptismal font and the high altar from the 17th century, the church furnishings are neo-Gothic. Of the bells that came into the church in 1535, the so-called "Elferin" is still in use today.
