Hohenbrunn Palace was built over a 10-year construction period (1722–1732) by Jakob Prandtauer on behalf of Provost Födermayr. It is considered the baroque idealization of the square courtyard typical of the country. Födermayr died in the year of completion. Since his successors didn't actually need the building, the castle fell into disrepair. In 1961 an association for the rescue and maintenance of the castle was founded. The association acquired the castle and was able to completely restore it by 1965 with the support of government agencies, the Upper Austrian State Hunting Association and, last but not least, donations from the economy. It is the seat of the Upper Austrian State Hunting Association and has housed the Upper Austrian Hunting Museum since 1979.

During construction work for a road in 1986 a circular moat was discovered. The survey of aerial photographs showed that the system consists of two circular trenches tapering towards the bottom with diameters of 68 m and 45 m and widths of 3 and 2.5 m. The original depth of the trenches was about 2 to 2.5 m. The trenches were interrupted by earth walkways in at least two places. By evaluating ceramic finds, the complex could be assigned to the Middle Neolithic . Evidence of a settlement from the same period was found in the immediate vicinity of the circular moat. A Neolithic female figure, the "Venus von Ölkam" is probably the most famous find. Except for archaeological excavations , nothing of the complex can be seen (leveled agricultural land).

During dredging in the course of the widening of the West Autobahn in March 1998, traces of early Neolithic settlement were found. During the following archaeological monitoring of the earthworks, a linear ceramic settlement site with three long houses and the storage and waste pits surrounding them as well as clay mining sites could be identified. Ceramic shards, stone tools and animal bones were found in the pits. There were also scattered finds and individual finds from later eras. Since the area has been used for agriculture for a long time, the top layers were destroyed and without any findings.

The Sumerauerhof was mentioned around 1200 in a Passau document and in 1378 in the list of Meierhöfe of St. Florian Monastery . Initially just a collection of individual buildings, these are likely to have grown together to form a square courtyard in the course of the 17th century . After a fire in the middle of the 19th century, the courtyard was rebuilt in its current state. In 1978 the state of Upper Austria bought the farm and set up the Sumerauerhof open-air museum in it. The Sumerauerhof has been a branch of the Upper Austrian State Museum since 2002 .

Cathedral builder Matthäus Schlager planned the industrial building in the local style with neo-baroque basic features. With the casting of the Pummerin for St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna in 1951, the company got its place in the history of the Second Republic . A model of this bell now stands next to the former foundry building. At the end of 1994 the company went bankrupt , a continuation of the operation as an aluminum scrap smelter failed due to the resistance of the neighbors and the operation was stopped.

The origin of the St Florian monastery is obscure. Remnants of walls from the Roman Empire were found under the crypt of the collegiate church . It is believed that the veneration of the martyr Florian began as early as the 4th century. In writings there are references from the time around 800. In 1071 the Augustinian canons came to the monastery. Carlo Antonio Carlone began to rebuild the monastery building in 1686 and worked here until his death in 1708. Jakob Prandtauer continued his work, but not without incorporating his ideas. When Prandtauer also died in 1726, Jakob Steinhueber and Gotthard Hayberger were commissioned to complete the building. Around 1750 the building was finished according to the plans and ideas of the client. The monastery represents a closed baroque unit.

The brother house was the hospital and retirement home of the St. Florian monastery. The associated church was mentioned in a document in 1111, but it is certainly older. The core of the existing church is Gothic and was redesigned in Baroque style in 1681. At that time the tower was also given a hood in the style of the time. During the restoration around 1890, the church got new benches and the Florian spring, which rises under the church, was framed with a stone balustrade. The church has a barred niche on the right-hand side in which there is a Gothic stone Madonna from around 1340. The image of the baroque high altar shows the death of St. Florian. The baroque fountain of the Florianibründl on the south side of the church with a statue of the saint is also interesting. The house houses a workshop and apartments for Lebenshilfe Upper Austria .
