Parish Church of St. Michael in Burgenland
The Roman Catholic parish church of St. Michael is located in the center of St. Michael in Burgenland ( Hungarian : " Pusztaszentmihály ") in the Güssing district in Burgenland . It is consecrated to St. Michael and belongs to the Deanery of Güssing .
history
The parish already existed in the Middle Ages. Including an older church, the western part with the tower, the church was expanded and refurbished in 1933. The church was renovated in 1968 and 1976.
Architecture and equipment
The church is a large hall with a flat, closed choir. The nave is three-bay with square vaults between straps that rest on flat pilasters . The choir has two bays, also with a square vault. The interior was painted in the Beuron style in 1933 . On the south wall of the nave there is a Madonna with a child from the first half of the 18th century in a more recent version.
