The parish church of Stanz bei Landeck stands on the eastern edge of the village in the municipality of Stanz bei Landeck in the district of Landeck in the state of Tyrol . The Roman Catholic parish church , consecrated to Saints Peter and Paul , belongs to the Deanery of Zams in the Diocese of Innsbruck . The church is a listed building ( list entry ).

history

The seat of the mother parish of the Stanzertal was transferred from Stanz to Zams in the 13th century. A church was mentioned in documents in 1449, as a curate in 1669 and again as a parish in 1891.

The late Gothic church construction was probably started in 1460/1470, in 1482 the consecration of the choir was mentioned in a document. In a window reveal of the tower, an inscription mentions Hans Prandtauer 1646. The west gallery was built in 1955.

architecture

The late Gothic church with a Romanesque south tower is surrounded by a cemetery. The war memorial from 1955 and the chapel for the dead from 1975 are to the west of the church.

The outside of the church has a circumferential plinth and a grooved coffin cornice, the triangular pilaster strips on the nave are drawn up to the eaves, and the triangular pilasters on the choir close with simple eyelashes. The western front of the nave has corner buttresses which are placed on the edge of the coffee cornice from across the corner and close with tracery gables. The ogival west portal is triple grooved with round and pear rods crossed at the apex, a square coffin cornice around the portal serves as further framing.

The tower on the yoke in front of the triumphal arch on the south side of the nave was built in the 13th century, it has massive, well-fortified masonry and round-arched sound windows coupled in two storeys and wears a pointed helmet from the 19th century. To the east of the tower and south of the choir is the sacristy annex.

The interior of the church shows itself with a three-bay nave under a diamond-shaped net rib vault on chamfered wall pillars with round services, the vault bears coats of arms at the intersection of the ribs. The retracted, rounded, chamfered triumphal arch is slightly shifted from the axis of the nave. The one-yoke choir with a three-eighth end has a ribbed vault on round services with round panes at the intersections, the sacristy portal with a three-sided end has an iron plate door.

The stained glass in the round window on the western front was created around 1910.

Furnishing

The early Baroque high altar from Mils bei Hall calls 1642 has an aedicule structure above a high plinth with blown gable shows the altar sheet Maria with Joachim and Anna and in the upper picture Mariahilf, the side half-figures show the weather saints Johannes and Paulus, the tabernacle shows a figure-rich Baroque crucifixion group the third quarter of the 18th century. The console figures in the choir show Peter and Paul from the end of the 17th century.

The side altars show the image of the Holy Family around 1700 on the left and a candlestick angel from the second half of the 17th century, on the right Madonna in a halo from the beginning of the 16th century and a candlestick angel around 1520.

The pulpit and the station pictures are baroque.

The organ was built by Franz Greil in 1696. The two-part organ case with veneer boards is from the end of the 18th century.
