The whistle tuna is one of the outback nunataks in East Antarctic Victoria Land . It rises northeast of Welcome Mountain and south of Heuser-Nunatak of the Emlen Peaks from the ice masses on the edge of the northern polar plateau .

Scientists from the German expedition GANOVEX IV (1984–1985) named him.
