Phare de Roscoff is the name of a lighthouse completed in 1934 in the village of Roscoff in the Finistère department in Brittany . It has a range of 15 nautical miles .
In 1880, a fixed, white beacon was erected on the northern pier to mark the entrance to the harbor. In 1884, a red fire followed directly opposite. Due to the lack of height and the associated short range, it was decided in 1914 to build a new lighthouse. However, due to the First World War, construction was delayed until 1934.
The new lighthouse made of granite was completed in 1934 with a height of 24 meters approx. 430 m to the rear of the old beacons directly in the port of Roscoff. It was automated in 2002 and can be viewed in the summer months.
