Phare de la Pointe des Chats (short: Phare des Chats ) is the name of a lighthouse with a range of 19 nautical miles on the island of Île de Groix in the Morbihan department .
Built from 1897 on the site of an old battery , the lighthouse began its service on October 15, 1898. Although the building is inhabited, it is not monitored, but automated. Viewing is not possible.
The Pointe des Chats headland is now a nature reserve. There are several types of surface minerals (e.g., garnet , mica schist , glaucophane, and epidote ) that are usually hidden at the site.
