Philémon Yang (2010)

Philémon Yang (born June 14, 1947 in Jiketem-Oku ) was Prime Minister of Cameroon as the successor to Ephraim Inoni from June 30, 2009 to January 4, 2019.

Before that, he was Minister in the Presidential Office from 2004 to 2009. He served in government from 1975 to 1984 and as ambassador to Canada from 1984 to 2004.

After studying law at Yaoundé University , he was a public prosecutor at the Buea Court of Appeal from January 1975. Six months later, he was appointed Deputy Minister for Territorial Administration, before finally becoming Minister for Mining and Energy in 1979. He remained in this position until 1984 when he went to Canada as his country's ambassador. He held this position for 20 years.
