Phil Terranova (born September 4, 1919 in New York City , New York , United States , † March 16, 2000 ) was an American boxer . He was world featherweight champion from 1943 to 1944 .
Career
On August 16, 1943 Terranova boxed against the Canadian Jackie Callura for the world champion belt of the NBA association and defeated him in a 15 round fight by TKo in round 6. On March 10 of the following year, he lost the title against his compatriot Sal Bartolo by unanimous decision of the judge.
In 1998, Phil Terranova was inducted into the World Boxing Hall of Fame .
