The Augsburg Philharmonic Choir has a very long tradition. The Augsburg Liedertafel, founded in 1843, and the Augsburg Oratorio Association , founded in 1866, appeared together under this name for the first time in 1970.
In addition to the well-known oratorio literature and sacred works that are part of the choir's permanent repertoire, there were also rarities in the program, such as the German premiere of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Requiem , the "Requiem" by Gabriel Fauré as an Augsburg premiere, and Bizet's "Te deum" "and as part of the municipal symphony concerts " Columbus "by Werner Egk .
