Philip Bouverie Bowyer Nichols
Sir Philip Bouverie Bowyer Nichols KCMG (* 1894 ; † 1962 ) was a British diplomat .
Nichols studied at Eton College and Balliol College , Oxford . In the 1920s he was employed in the New Zealand division of the Foreign Office . In 1932 he married Phyllis Mary Spender Clay, together they had two sons and two daughters. From 1939 to 1941, Nichols headed the Southern Hemisphere Department. From May 13, 1942 to 1948 he was ambassador to the Czechoslovak government in exile of Edvard Beneš in London and accompanied them to Prague . On June 13, 1946 he was by Georg VI. (United Kingdom) inducted into the Order of St. Michael and St. George as Knight Commander .
