Philip Andrew Sinkinson OBE (born October 7, 1950 ) is a British diplomat .

Life

Philip Sinkinson joined the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) in 1970 . In 2001 he was Deputy British High Commissioner ( English Deputy High Commissioner ) to Kingston ( Jamaica sent). As High Commissioner, he was sent by the Blair government as British High Commissioner to the West African Gambia in April 2006 , replacing Eric Jenkinson . His tenure ended in 2011, and Sinkinson retired. David Morley succeeded him in Gambia in May 2011.
