Philipp Knauss

Philipp Knauss (born December 24, 1974 in Saarbrücken ) is a German film producer and screenwriter. He is known for films like Guilt Are Always Others , Schmidt's Cat and The Sandman . Since 2009 he has been managing director of the film and television laboratory in Ludwigsburg together with Matthias Drescher.

Life

Knauss grew up in Saarland . He is the son of the philosopher Gerhard Knauss and the writer Sibylle Knauss . His brother Florian S. Knauß is the director of the State Collection of Antiquities and Glyptothek Munich.

After graduating from high school, he trained as a publishing clerk at Ernst Klett Verlag in Stuttgart. After studying economics in Konstanz, he began studying at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy in 2000 with a focus on creative producing and international producing. After various activities for film production companies in Cologne, he founded the film and television laboratory in Ludwigsburg in 2009 together with Matthias Drescher.
