Philipp Langen (born July 2, 1986 in Lahnstein ) is a former German soccer player .

Club career

The midfielder came to TuS Koblenz at the age of 14 and made his first league games for the team at the age of 17. After being promoted to the Regionalliga in 2004, despite his young age, he was immediately a regular player and made 63 appearances in which he scored five goals before he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga . In the 2006/07 season, the left-footed player made 29 appearances in the 2nd Bundesliga and scored one goal. During a training camp in September 2007, he injured his anterior cruciate ligament and the lateral ligament of his right knee. Since the 2008/09 season, Langen played for SpVgg Greuther Fürth . Langen could not prevail there due to injuries and was loaned back to TuS Koblenz by Fürth for the 2009/10 season. After the end of the season, Langen will return to SpVgg Greuther Fürth in 2010. Langen spent the 2010/11 season with the 2nd team of Spvgg. For the 2011/12 season he did not receive a new contract in Fürth and moved back to TuS Koblenz, which had meanwhile been relegated to the Regionalliga West . Due to injuries, Langen could not take a regular place during the 2011/12 season and only made three league games. Even for the 2012/13 season, Langen did not manage to secure a place in the starting line-up and was usually brought in as a substitute. On the 7th day of the season, Langen again suffered a cruciate ligament rupture and had to take a break of eight months. Langen then decided to end his active career after his contract expired in summer 2013.

Langen completed a total of five missions in the German U-20 national team .
