Laura Antonelli (* 28. November 1941 as Laura Antonaz in Pola , Istria , then Italy ; † 22. June 2015 in Ladispoli ) was an Italian actress .

Life

After fleeing at the end of the Second World War, Laura Antonelli grew up in Milan, Genoa and Naples and attended high school. It was after studying mathematics and gymnastics teacher in Rome, when she at the advertising series Carosello was discovered on Italian television in which she campaigned for multiple products. She initially worked as an announcer for the culture magazine Zoom.

Antonelli 1973

She made her first feature film in 1965, but it was not until she was about 30 that she became known as a leading actress. In between (1967/1968) she was also an actress in seven photo novels . She starred in numerous light sex comedies such as Venus in Furs (1969), The Naked Cello (1971), Malizia (1973) and Sesso Matto (1973). For several years she was Jean-Paul Belmondo's partner .

Luchino Visconti cast it in 1976 in his last film The Innocence . In it she played at the side of Giancarlo Giannini a rather untypical, not primarily sex-oriented role.

In 1991, cocaine was found in her home , which abruptly ended her career. She was accused of not only using cocaine, but also of being a dealer . She received a three-and-a-half year prison sentence, which resulted in no film offers. The judgment was only overturned in the second instance eight years later. However, Antonelli did not return to go back to the screen, especially since her last movie Malizia 2000, a continuation of her hit film Malizia from 1973, had failed in the criticism.

In 1992 she underwent anti-wrinkle treatment, which failed and defaced her face. This finally forced her to withdraw from the acting profession.

From 2009 she lived west of Rome in the care of the Ladispoli community and was no longer able to cope with everyday life without help. Laura Antonelli died on the morning of June 22, 2015 in her apartment after a heart attack .
