Philipp S. Fischinger

Philipp Sergius Fischinger (born October 24, 1979 in Ellwangen ) is a German law scholar and professor at the University of Mannheim .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1999 at Peutinger-Gymnasium Ellwangen and doing civilian service, Fischinger studied law at the University of Regensburg from 2000 . There he passed his first state examination in law in 2005 as the best in Bavaria. In 2005 he took up a position as a research assistant for Reinhard Richardi in Regensburg and, under his supervision, did his doctorate in 2006 with a thesis on employment law. iur. Fischinger then completed his legal clerkship at the regional court of Regensburg , which he again finished in 2008 as the best in Bavaria with the second state examination. He then obtained the title Master of Laws (LL.M.) at Harvard Law School during a research stay in 2009 and remained there until 2010 as a visiting researcher . After his return to Germany, Fischinger took up a position as a temporary academic advisor at the University of Regensburg and completed his habilitation in 2014 under the supervision of Martin Löhnig . Fischinger was thus awarded the Venia legendi for the subjects civil law, labor and social law, and insolvency law.

After a substitute for a chair at the University of Mannheim , he has been a full professor there since October 2014 for civil law, labor law, commercial and economic law and sports law. In 2017 he turned down an offer at the University of Giessen.
