Reinhard Richardi

Reinhard Richardi (born March 21, 1937 in Berlin ) is a German lawyer and professor.

Career

After graduating from high school, Richardi studied law at the Free University of Berlin and the University of Munich from 1956 to 1960 . In 1960 he passed the first state examination in law and did his doctorate with Alfred Hueck . He then worked as a research assistant at the Department of Labor and Business Law at the University of Munich. In 1964 the 2nd state examination followed and in 1967 the habilitation .

From 1968 to 2005 Richardi was a full professor at the University of Regensburg and held the chair for labor and social law , civil law and commercial law . He declined calls to Berlin (1967), Göttingen (1976) and Heidelberg (1979). 1973–75 Richardi held the office of dean of the Faculty of Law and Economics, from 1988–1992 he was prorector of the university, and from 1988–2005 he was a liaison professor of the German Research Foundation .

Richardi has been Vice President of the German Labor Court Association since 1999 . After he had held the office of chairman of the Central Expert Office of the German Bishops' Conference from 1988 to 2005, he then became president of its successor organization, the Church Labor Court . 1981–95 Richardi was chairman of the German section of the International Society for Labor Law and Social Security, 1987–2005 chairman of the Legal Study Society in Regensburg. From 1993 he was also a member of the ethics committee of the Medical Faculty of the University of Regensburg.

Since his retirement in 2005, Richardi has been working as an expert reviewer in the legal evaluation procedure of the state evaluation agency Baden-Württemberg (Evalag).

In 1990 Richardi received the State Medal of the Free State of Bavaria for social services . In 1996 Pope John Paul II awarded him the Papal Order of Gregory . In 2001 he was finally awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany .

Professor Richardi is married, has three children and lives in Pentling near Regensburg .
