Philipp Sigismund Stosch

Philipp Sigismund Stosch , after 1717 Philipp Sigismund Freiherr von Stosch (also Philipp Sigismund Stossius , born June 10, 1656 in Küstrin / Prussia ; † November 6, 1724 there ) was a German doctor , mayor and member of the academy of scholars " Leopoldina ".

Life

Philipp Sigismund Stosch was electoral Brandenburg physician, military and civil doctor, and garrison doctor in Küstrin. He was also councilor of this city. In 1717 Philipp Sigismund Stosch was ennobled and from this point on he called himself Philipp Sigismund Freiherr von Stosch (Stossius).

On June 10, 1698, Philipp Sigismund Stossius with the academic surname Androcydes was accepted as a member ( matriculation no. 232 ) in the Leopoldina . He was a member of the medicine section.

family

Philipp Sigismund Stosch was married to Louisa (Luise) Vechner (* around 1660; † 1704). The couple's son, Baron Philipp von Stosch, was born in Küstrin in 1691. As an adult, he lived mainly as a diplomat in Italy and worked as an art historian and antiquarian. He died in 1757. In 1692 the daughter Luise Hedwig Stosch was born.
