Philipp Simon (pharmacist)

Johann Philipp Siegmund Simon (born March 12, 1807 in Eiterfeld , † November 25, 1871 in Eltville am Rhein ) was a Nassau official pharmacist and member of the state parliament.

Philipp Simon was the son of the bailiff Franz Ignatz Simon (born May 13, 1775 in Fulda; † October 15, 1847 ibid) and Katharina Theresia nee Motter (Molter) (born April 19, 1782 in Fulda; † January 29, 1845 ibid.) ). Philipp Simon, who was a Catholic denomination, married Maria Katharina Elisabetha, née del'Haye, on June 25, 1835 in Eltville (born March 10, 1815 in Frankfurt am Main; † February 22, 1884 in Eltville), the daughter of the Eltville local pharmacist Michael del 'Haye.

Philipp Simon studied pharmacy and took over the Eltville local pharmacy from his father-in-law.

During the March Revolution , Simon was a member of the "Association for Freedom, Law and Order".

In the primary election in 1864 for the election of the Second Chamber of the Duchy of Nassau , 105 of the 118 first class citizens eligible to vote, 291 of the 361 second class citizens eligible to vote and 772 of the 1405 third class citizens eligible to vote cast their votes in the XIX constituency (Eltville) from. 65 voters were elected in the primary election. These were complete in the election of the member of the state parliament. Simon received 35 votes and was thus elected in the first ballot. His opponents, the landowner Joh. Baptist König from Rauenthal received 29 votes and the landowner Nicolaus Mahr from Eltville received one vote. He remained a member of the state parliament until 1865.
