Philipp Weindel

Philipp Weindel (born February 18, 1900 in Venningen , † 1988 ) was a German Roman Catholic clergyman.

Life

Weindel was cathedral capitular from 1932 until his death , and later cathedral provost at Speyer Cathedral . In August 1940, with his thesis on Franz Anton Staudenmaier's theology, he was the last doctoral candidate at the University of Munich before the theological faculty was closed.

He published numerous articles on the history of the cathedral and the diocese. When the Society for Middle Rhine Church History was founded, he was a representative on the board.
