Philipp Winzig (born March 22, 1983 in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee , Austria ) is an Austrian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the EHC Lustenau in the Inter-National League since August 2015 . His twin brother Diethard is also an ice hockey player.

Career

Philipp Winzig started his career early on with Team Carinthia 2006 , which no longer exists today. In 2000 he came to his home club, the EC KAC , and played there in the U20, but also got some appearances in the combat team. For the 2004/05 season, Winzig moved to league rivals EC Red Bull Salzburg . Salzburg also provided a team in the then national league in which Winzig also played regularly. After only one season in Salzburg, Winzig signed on with the Black Wings Linz to play in the top division for the next two years. Between 2007 and 2009, Winzig played alternately at EV Zeltweg and the EC Graz 99ers . From then on, Winzig decided to continue his ice hockey career in the second and third division in Austria. The ATSE Graz undertook tiny, where he spent a year in League three and the two following years in the second division. For the 2012/13 season he moved to EHC Lustenau in the newly founded Inter-National League . In the following season, Winzig Ligaintern switched to EK Zell am See to play there again for only one year. On May 22, 2014, Winzig was signed by the newly founded HC Steelers Kapfenberg . After the team, which had been poorly positioned from the start, was disbanded in May 2015, with Winzig having a very strong attack with 24 goals and 31 assists from 28 games, the Carinthian-born moved back to EHC Lustenau on August 1, 2015, where he was already active two years earlier.
