Maria Philippa Kraft , actually Manuela Kraft , (born January 25, 1975 in Greiz ) is the former abbess of the Cistercian abbey of St. Marienstern .

Life

Manuela Kraft grew up as an only child in Elsterberg in the Vogtland and stepped in 1994 after her training as a bookbinder in Marienstern as a postulant in the congregation of the Cistercian one. After she started her novitiate in 1995 and received the religious name Maria Philippa, she made her solemn profession in April 1999 . Afterwards she was responsible for the boarding, later for the reception of the guests, was in charge of the gate service and looked after the computer technology. Since 2010 she has been the cantor of the monastery.

On August 9, 2011, she was elected as the successor of Benedicta Waurick as the 43rd abbess of the monastery. On September 18, 2011, the Benediction took place by Abbot General Mauro-Giuseppe Lepori , who gave her the pontificals . On April 24, 2017, her resignation as abbess and her resignation from the order for personal reasons was announced.
