Philippe Jacquin
Philippe Jacquin (born January 22, 1942 in Donville-les-Bains , Département Manche , † September 28, 2002 in Lyon ) was a French anthropologist at the University of Lyon II Lumière .
Life
Jacquin was a historian , ethnologist and anthropologist, but above all an expert on the American West and the Indian population living there . He died after returning from a research trip with the Indians. His approximately 20 books on North America are considered standard works for understanding the history of the Native Americans. They also deal with the mixing of cultures and the conquest of the Wild West .
Jacquin has participated in many programs on France Culture and has received various awards.
