Philippe, vicomte de Noailles, Duke of Mouchy (born December 27, 1715 in Paris , † June 27, 1794 (executed) there) was Marshal of France and the founder of the younger Noailles-Mouchy line.

He was the son of Marshal Adrien Maurice de Noailles, Duke of Noailles and the younger brother of Marshal Louis de Noailles . After having fought in the Battle of Fontenoy and in several campaigns in Germany , including the Battle of Minden , he received the Marshal's baton on March 30, 1775 , the same day as his brother .

Philippe was in great favor at court for a long time. His wife, Anne-Claude-Louise d'Arpajon (1729–94), was Queen Marie Antoinette's first lady of honor , who gave her the nickname Madame Etiquette .

His two sons were Philippe-Louis-Marc-Antoine de Noailles, prince de Poix and Louis-Marie, vicomte de Noailles . Both became members of the constituent assembly .

Philippe de Noailles died at the same time as his wife, the heiress of the House of Arpajon, on June 27, 1794 under the guillotine , one month before the fall of Robespierre and the end of the reign of terror .
