Phineas is a Greek form of the biblical name Pinchas . It is not related to the name Phineus , which several figures in Greek mythology bear.
Because of the killing of an interreligious couple by the high priest Pinchas , the name Phineas was taken up by representatives of the White Supremacy in the USA and became one of their trademarks.
