Pinchas (also Pinhas , Pinkas , Phinehas or Pinkus ) ( Hebrew פינחס) is a male Jewish given name . Its meaning is usually not derived from Hebrew - the language of the Tanach - but from Egyptian and would then be translated as "the Nubian ".
