Phoenix Legend ( Chinese  鳳凰 傳奇  /  凤凰 传奇 , Pinyin Fènghuáng Chuánqí ) is a Chinese music duo . It consists of the singer Yáng-Wèi Línghuā, who comes from Inner Mongolia and sings in both Mandarin Chinese and Mongolian , and the rapper Zēng Yì, who comes from Hunan .

Career

After they appeared on the TV show The Walk of Fame with the song "Auf dem Mond" in 2005 , they became known nationwide. They combine folk music with rap and hip-hop .

Her song “ Freifly ” ( 自由 飛翔  /  自由 飞翔 , Zìyóu Fēixiáng ) from the 2007 album “Lucky Promise ” also made it into the Chinese download charts .

In 2009 the duet released the song “The most dazzling folk style”. This song has been downloaded over a hundred million times through cell phones and websites in China. In the same year, the two members joined the Chinese People's Liberation Army as art soldiers in the military culture troop of the second artillery .

In 2012 Phoenix Legend was voted the most popular Chinese pop duet. According to a report by China Daily in May 2012, their albums sold exceeded six million and ten songs from their four albums set a record one billion hits online .
