The Phrumsengla National Park (ཕྲུམ་ སེང་ རྒྱལ་ ཡོང་ གླིང་ ག) is one of the five large national parks in Bhutan . It is located in the center of the country and has an area of over 905 square kilometers . In terms of area, it is the smallest national park.
location
The national park extends over a total of 5 districts , Mongar , Lhuntse , Bumthang , Trongsa and Zhemgang , with the largest part in terms of surface area being in the Mongar district. The Lateral Road with the Thrumshing La Pass leads through the national park. The largest town in the park is Sengor. The highest mountains extend from 1000 to over 4000 meters .
Flora and fauna
The Phrumsengla National Park consists of 94% forested area and thus has a large biodiversity. Over 68 endangered species of mammals such as the tiger , the leopard or the red panda , 620 different plant species and over 341 species of birds live in the park . These include, for example, the blood pheasant , the brown- gray wooden owl , the hornbill or the rose-tailed trogon .
The national park stretches from alpine mountain regions to the subtropics and thus offers picturesque views.
tourism
The national park is advertised as a major tourist destination due to its location on the Lateral Road and the very good connections associated with it. It should create a harmonious balance between man and nature.
