Panorama in Jigme Dorji National Park |
The Jigme Dorji National Park is a national park in Bhutan . The national park is located in the Himalayan region on the border with China in the districts of Paro , Thimphu , Gasa , Punakha and Wangdue Phodrang . With a size of 4,316 square kilometers , it is the second largest national park in the country. Due to the enormous height differences in the mountains, which range from 1400 m to 7000 m and include eight vegetation zones, it is one of the most species-rich protected areas on the Indian subcontinent.
The park hardly has any tourist infrastructure, but trekking is allowed.
