Pi Hongyan ( Chin .: 皮红艳, pinyin : Pí Hóngyàn) (born January 25, 1979 in Chongqing , People's Republic of China ) is a badminton player who plays for France .

Career

Pi played at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens , where she lost in the 1/16 final against Seo Yoon-hee from South Korea . She placed better in Beijing at the 2008 Olympic Games , when she first had to admit defeat to the 2004 and 2008 winner, Zhang Ning , in three sets in the quarter-finals and thus reached a shared fifth place.

Pi won the women's singles at the Aviva Open Singapore 2006 , where she defeated the Dutch Mia Audina in the final with 22-20, 22-20. She won two medals at the European Badminton Championships , in 2004 she was vice European champion after the final defeat by Mia Audina Tjiptawan and in 2008 she won a bronze medal after she failed in the semifinals against Xu Huaiwen , who was later to become the title holder of Chinese descent . From 2005 to 2008 she won the title at the French championships .

She won individual tournaments at the Croatian International and Portugal International 2003, among others .

In 2012 she ended her international career.

She is an ambassador for Solibad .
