Pier Carpi

Pier Carpi (actually Piero Arnaldo Carpi , * 16th January 1940 in Scandiani , province of Reggio Emilia ; † 26. June 2000 in Viadana , Province of Mantua ) was an Italian comic book writer , author , screenwriter and film director .

Life

Carpi became editor of the satirical magazine Bertoldo in 1961 at the age of 21 . He worked in the comic sector from 1963, creating various texts on Disney comics for the Mondadori publishing house . As a writer, he published his first work in 1964, which was followed by numerous others. Together with Alfredo Castelli , Carpi founded Horror magazine in 1970 . In 1974 he first worked for the film with a screenplay for Cagliostro . Subsequently, he was also the director of two unusual films in which he processed religious themes and psychological introspection. In 1993 he wrote another script.

Carpi was also active as a theater director. He has received several awards for his journalistic and writing work. He was married to the writer Franca Bagliardi .

In German are from Carpi in addition to Die Prophezeiungen von Pope Johannes XXIII. The history of mankind from 1935 to 2033 several Disney comics among other things in the series Walt Disney's funny paperbacks and Mickey Mouse have been published.
