The Fitchburg Trappers were an American ice hockey franchise of the Atlantic Coast Hockey League based in Fitchburg , Massachusetts .

history

The Fitchburg Trappers took on the 1981/82 season as one of seven founding members to play in the Atlantic Coast Hockey League . Jean-Guy Gagnon was signed as coach of the team . The Trappers belonged to the same investor as the Schenectady Chiefs , Robert Critelli, who after a short time was no longer able to maintain the salary payments, which is why the team was forced to stop playing prematurely during its premiere season on November 7, 1981, after only six games.
