The Pinebridge Bucks were an American ice hockey franchise of the Atlantic Coast Hockey League based in Spruce Pine , North Carolina .
history
The Pinebridge Bucks took on the 1983/84 season as an expansion team in the Atlantic Coast Hockey League . The Canadian Don Luce , who had been on the ice as an active player in almost 1000 games in the National Hockey League, was signed as head coach . After a disappointing start to the season, he was released early and replaced by the Bucks record player Frank Perkins , who led the team as player-coach in the following year and a half in fifth and third place after the regular season. Following the 1984/85 season , the Pinebridge Bucks finally stopped playing.
