history

The Schenectady Chiefs took on the 1981/82 season as one of seven founding members to play in the Atlantic Coast Hockey League . Pete Crawford was signed as coach of the team . The Chiefs belonged to the same investor as the Fitchburg Trappers , Robert Critelli, who after a short time could no longer maintain the salary payments, which is why the team was forced to stop playing prematurely during its premiere season on November 16, 1981 after only nine games.
