The Cape Cod Buccaneers were an American ice hockey franchise of the Atlantic Coast Hockey League based in South Yarmouth , Massachusetts .

history

The Cape Cod Buccaneers took on the 1981/82 season as one of seven founding members to play in the Atlantic Coast Hockey League . The team belonged to entrepreneur and sports official Vincent K. McMahon , who also owned the Cape Cod Coliseum and had wrestling events held there. Jim Troy was hired as coach and general manager of the team . For financial reasons, the franchise was forced to prematurely cease playing during its premiere season on February 1, 1982.
