Pier Miranda Ferraro , also Piermiranda Ferraro (born October 30, 1924 in Altivole , Treviso Province as Pietro Ferraro , † January 18, 2008 in Milan ) was an Italian opera singer (tenor).

Life

Ferraro was trained by Mirko Bonomi at the Conservatorio Benedetto Marcello in Venice and by Aureliano Pertile at the Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi in Milan . He started his career in the early 1950s; In 1951 he became known for his Verdi performances at La Scala in Milan . He has performed in many famous opera houses around the world, particularly in Vienna, London and South America. In 1959 he sang at the side of Maria Callas in a studio recording of the opera La Gioconda by Amilcare Ponchielli . In 1981 he ended his active work and founded an agency for the placement of singers, conductors and directors.
