Pierino Baffi
Pierino Baffi (born September 15, 1930 in Vailate , † March 27, 1985 in Bergamo ) was an Italian cyclist .
Pierino Baffi was a professional racing driver from 1953 to 1966. In 1954 he crossed the finish line for the first time as a professional driver in a race at the Cremona Grand Prix . His greatest success was winning stages in all three major tours ( Tour de France , Giro d'Italia and Vuelta a España ) in one year - 1958 . So far (as of July 2018) only Miguel Poblet in 1956 and Alessandro Petacchi in 2003 have managed this feat . Baffi competed a total of six times in the Tour, his best place in the overall ranking was 23rd in the Tour 1957 . In 1956 he won the Giro di Romagna , in 1960 the Giro dell'Emilia . He won the Milan-Mantua race twice (1959 and 1962) and the Trofeo Matteotti (1962 and 1963). He was able to record a total of 55 victories as a professional driver.
Pierino Baffi was the father of the cyclist Adriano Baffi .
