Piero Mazzocchetti (born March 23, 1978 in Pescara ) is an Italian singer and pianist .

Life

Piero Mazzocchetti was born in Pescara . At the age of six he started school and took piano lessons , at the age of thirteen he gave smaller concerts in bars and pubs in his home country. While he was studying piano at the conservatory , it took a few more years of vocal training, which he owed to the Catholic priest, in whose choir he sang with his twin sister. In 1996 Emma Raggi Valentini , who had also trained Luciano Pavarotti , took him on as a student. Soon after, Mazzocchetti won his first singing competitions.

In 1998 he came to Germany for the first time and played in an Italian restaurant in Munich . There he met the soccer player Mario Basler , with whom he became friends. Through him he came into contact with the sports manager Roger Wittmann , who finally signed him and put him in touch with the producer Leslie Mandoki . Mazzocchetti recorded a record and performed with his duet partner Lyn Liechty and the piece L'eternità on September 25, 1999 before the boxing match between Wladimir Klitschko and Axel Schulz . His album of the same name hit the charts and he was invited to numerous television programs over the next few months. He sang in the Top of the Pops and the Carreras Gala, in folk music shows and on talk shows.

However, the success did not last. His discoverer Wittmann built a new, professional team around his protégé in 2004. In the first half of the year he composed and wrote the lyrics with his co-author Marco Marrone . With the help of Werner Becker , the two recorded a dozen titles in Pescara, Rome and Hamburg. This resulted in the album Amore mio , which was released in September 2004 and marked its debut at EMI. He also learned German intensively and has since sang in both Italian and German.

At the 2007 Sanremo Festival , the singer, who was practically unknown in his home country, came third with Schiavo d'amore .
