Pierre-Albert Arnal

Pierre-Albert Arnal (born August 8, 1892 in L'Estréchure , Département Gard , † 1971 ) was a French diplomat who was ambassador to Venezuela between 1952 and 1955 .

Life

Arnal joined the Foreign Service in 1919 and was initially employed at the consulate in Upper Silesia in 1920 and then between 1922 and 1924 as a legation secretary at the embassy in Germany . After working in the trade department at the Foreign Ministry from 1925 to 1932 , he was again employed as counselor at the embassy in Germany from 1932 to 1937 . He then belonged to the delegation to the League of Nations between 1936 and 1940 and was then head of the economic department in the Foreign Ministry from 1940 to 1944.

After the end of the Second World War , Arnal acted as head of the administration of the French military government of the state of Baden between 1945 and 1946 . He was then consul general in Düsseldorf from 1946 to 1953 . He then succeeded Jean Bourdeillette as ambassador to Venezuela on March 3, 1952, and remained in this post until he was replaced by Pierre Denis . Most recently in 1957 he was head of the administration of the financial and industrial company for petroleum (Société Financière et Industrielle des Pétroles) .
