Pierre-Christian Taittinger (born February 5, 1926 in Paris , † September 27, 2009 in Versailles ) was a French politician, most recently the UMP .

After studying law , he became a lawyer at the Court of Appeal in 1947 . In 1953 he was elected to the city council ( Conseil municipal ) of Paris, 1962–1963 he was its president.

From 1968 to 1995 he was a member of the French Senate, with a brief interruption in 1976 when he worked for the Raymond Barre cabinet as State Secretary in the French Senate , where he served as Vice President from 1980 to 1992. From 1989-2008 he was also mayor ( Maire ) of the 16th arrondissement of Paris .
