Steve Brown (born January 25, 1981 in Bristol ) is an English dart player who is currently under contract with the PDC .
Career
Brown has been participating in the PDC tournaments since 2006 and regularly reached the round of 64. He celebrated his greatest successes at the Windy City Open 2007 and the UK Open Irish Regional 2007, where he made it to the quarterfinals. He also reached the round of 16 at the Peachtree Open 2007 and the Hayling Island PDPA Players Championship 2007.
Due to constant performance on the Pro Tour 2007, he was able to qualify for the 2008 World Championship for the first time . He ranked fifth among the players who were not automatically seeded for the tournament. He started the year on place 613 of the PDC Order of Merit and rose to place 76. In the first round, however, he lost to Chris Mason with 1: 3.
For the subsequent World Cup , Brown could not qualify and only took part in the World Cup again in 2010 . He lost again in the first round with 1: 3, this time against the then world number three James Wade . 2010 marked a turning point for Brown. He reached both the second round of the World Matchplay and the second round of the World Grand Prix . He won his first game at the 2011 World Cup when he defeated the Dutchman Jelle Klaasen 3-1 in the first round . In the second round he was defeated by the later semi-finalist Terry Jenkins with 1: 4.
He won his first tournament on the PDC Pro Tour in February 2011. In the final of the UK Open Qualifier 1 he defeated Ian White 6: 3. In April of the same year, also because of this success, he reached the top 32 in the world rankings for the first time.
At the 2012 World Cup , Brown lost in the first round to South African Devon Petersen when he gave away a 2-0 set lead and lost 3-2. Also in the first round he was eliminated from the World Cup a year later . He lost there 3-0 to Terry Jenkins from England .

Private
Brown started playing darts in 1996 and made his living as a plasterer before deciding to become a professional darts player . He is a supporter of the Bristol City football club and founded the Steve Brown Darts Academy , which is aimed at children between the ages of eight and 16.
Brown is married with three children.
