Boch was the son of the iron founder and founder François Boch (1700–1754). He married the Luxembourger Antoinette Nothomb (* February 20, 1752; † October 9, 1805), the daughter of Jean Antoine Nothomb (1706-1760) and Marie Antoinette Baclesse (1723-1768).

Life

In 1757, Pierre-Joseph Boch and his two brothers bought a piece of land in the still undeveloped Siebenbrunnen valley in Luxembourg for the construction of a new earthenware factory and moved the company headquarters there from Audun-le-Tiche in 1766, after the Austrian Empress Maria at last in 1765 Theresa had approved the establishment of a factory in the Habsburg province of Luxembourg for early industrial series production .

The company flourished and could not be brought down , even by major destruction during the French Revolution in 1794. In the meantime, Boch had taken over the management of the company alone and was now rebuilding the company with the help of his son Jean-Francois .

Boch founded the " Antonius Brotherhood " in Siebenbrunnen in 1812 , which offered the workers progressive social benefits that went beyond Bismarck's social laws (70 years later). This measure also increased the reputation of the family business in the eyes of the workers.
