Pierre-Olivier Baron Beckers-Vieujant (born May 3, 1960 in Ukkel ) is a Belgian businessman and sports official .

General

Pierre-Olivier Beckers was born the youngest of six children to the former CEO of the Delhaize Group , Guy Beckers. Pierre-Olivier attended the Université catholique de Louvain and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in applied economics. He received a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School . In 1983 he married Karine Josz. In the same year he joined the Delhaize Group and became Chairman of the Board in 1999. In July 2012 he was raised to the nobility and has held the title of baron ever since . In November 2012, he applied for a name change to Beckers-Vieujant for himself and his descendants . In 2013 he was appointed commander of the Leopold Order.

Connection to sport

Beckers-Vieujant has been President of the Belgian NOK since 2004 . In 2012 he was elected an IOC member and is active on the finance and ethics committees. He is also chairman of the accounting commission.
