Pierre Boucher (born February 29, 1908 in Paris , France , † November 27, 2000 in Faremoutiers , France) was a French photographer .

life and work

Pierre Boucher was born in Paris in 1908 , where he attended the Drawing and Applied Arts School ( École des Arts Appliquées ) from 1921 to 1925 . He then completed an internship at Draeger. In 1926/27 he worked in the advertising department of the Printemps department store . When he was serving in the military aviation in Morocco at the age of 21 , he learned the art of photography. He completed an internship at Deberny & Peignot in 1932, made the acquaintance of Maximilian Vox , Herbert Matter , Maurice Tabard , Roger Barry , Maurice Cloche and René Zuber , in whose studio he entered. From 1932 he published photo graphs in Arts et Métiers Graphiques Photographie . On the mediation of its editor-in-chief André Lejard , he made the acquaintance of Maria Eisner . In 1934 he co-founded the Alliance Photo agency (with Eisner, Zuber, Emeric Feher , Denise Bellon ) . In addition to reports, he dealt with all forms of experimental photographic art. Trained in constructivism and surrealism , he used all available techniques from photomontage to solarization for a wide range of subjects . In 1933 he took part in the I. Salon International du Nu Photographique , initiated by Daniel Masclet, and in 1935 in the exhibition Affiches, Photos in the Billet-Vorms gallery. In 1940 he withdrew to the free zone of France; In 1945 he was a member of the Agence de Diffusion et d'Edition Photographiques (ADEP). From 1948 to 1953 he worked for the public relations work of the Marshall Plan . In 1952 he founded the advertising agency Muktiphoto . From 1961 he made extensive trips; In 1972 he withdrew from photography.

Boucher made a name for himself above all as a photojournalist and advertising photographer.
